A woman director of a prominent coaching institute was today allegedly thrashed by a lady guard at their Munirka centre, police said.

Vasant Vihar police confirmed that they have received a complaint about the alleged attack and said they will verify the same as they inquire into the matter.

According to the sister of the attack victim, the incident took place at the Munirka centre of the institute, which has branches across the city.

It was alleged that Neetu Singh, the director of the institute, was thrashed by a lady guard sent by her husband, Rajiv Soumitra, another director of the institute.

Her sister said that Neetu was injured in the assault and a police call was made after which she was taken to Safdarjung hospital for treatment and medico-legal examination.

The victim's husband, however, has denied the allegation saying he had sent two security guards, including a lady guard, to the Munirka centre following a complaint by the teachers there.

He further said that his relations were strained with his wife and a divorce case was pending at Tis Hazari Court.

He claimed that it was "Neetu (who) attacked the lady guard and the whole incident was captured on CCTV camera".
