Renowned Brazilian director Julio Bressane says the biggest challenge for a filmmaker is to overcome political influences and impediments.
Bressane, who is one of noted faces of cinema in Brazil is the Chairman of the ongoing International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK), was speaking during an "In Conversation With" session at here yesterday on the sidelines of the week-long festival.
"The biggest challenge a filmmaker faces is to overcome political influences and impediments. I have struggled a lot with cinema organisations like Cinema Novo in Brazil who tried to define society. But I was keen in individuals and hence my movies were marginalised," he said.
