The state government today said it has advertised for recruitment on 437 post under the handicapped category even as it claimed that the backlog of the jobs under the category has been cleared.
Addressing a state-level function organised to mark the World Disability Day today at Braille Bhawan here state's Health and Family Welfare Minister Surjit Kumar Jyani said while the backlog has been cleared 437 new posts have been advertised under the category.
At the function the Minister was geharoed by protesters including anganwadi workers and physically-challenged people who raised slogans against the government and demanded jobs.

While calling on unions to work towards solving the issues related to differently-abled persons he said some of the union leaders caused nuisance during his functions as they were playing petty politics over serious matter.
He invited union members to meet him if they have some issues related to this saying protests would not bring solutions.
"Instead, they should come and have a proper meeting with me if they really want their issues to be resolved," he said.
