Discharge from Mettur reduced due to good rains in Delta areas

: Release of water from Mettur dam for irrigating crops in Delta districts was today reduced to 10,000 cusecs from 13,000 cusecs following widespread rains in these areas, PWD officials said.

They said inflow was 16,442 cusecs and discharge into canals was kept at 500 cusecs.

The water level in the Mettur dam today stood at 91.59 feet against its full level of 120 feet.
