CPI state executive today recommended that disciplinary action be taken against party MLA E S Bijimol for her alleged anti-party remarks.

The firebrand woman leader who is a two-time MLA from Peermedu in Idukki district had courted controversy with her reported remark that she was not made a minister in the LDF ministry as she did not have any "godfather" in the party.

She reportedly made the observation during an interview to a magazine after the state assembly polls in May.

The state executive, which met here today, recommended that Bijimol be removed from the party state council, party sources said.

The two-day party state council, to be held at Alappuzha from tomorrow, would take a final decision on the matter.

Party General Secretary S Sudhakar Reddy would also attend the meet, the sources added.
