Veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty, who recently became a Rajya Sabha member, will be seen in another new avatar on television, where he turned rapper for the first time at a dance reality show.

India's original disco dancer will show cool moves in the upcoming grand premiere episode of 'Dance India Dance Li'l Masters', a popular programme on Zee TV with which he has been associated for several years. The episode will be aired on Saturday.

The 62-year-old National Award winning actor sprang a surprise by singing a special track himself to introduce the super 16 contestants, skippers and judges in an extravaganza of dance and comedy.

Dressed like a rapper, Chakraborty looked smashing in a studded black leather jacket with an 'M' embellished hat along with thick gold chain, pendants and rings in each finger.

"Singing a rap song was a new experience for me as I have never attempted anything like this before ever. For a rap song, one requires a different attitude altogether to maintain the flow and the feel in sync.

"So, instead of aping anyone, I tried to do it in my own style. It's something very 'hatke' (different) that we planned for this season which will definitely take the audience by surprise," Chakraborty said in a statement here.

The 'Agneepath' actor was very excited to sing his first rap track and he suggested few additions to make it sound cooler and hipper.

The latest edition of the show, in which Chakraborty features as 'Grandmaster', will be judged by choreographers Geeta Kapoor and Ahmed Khan, coached and mentored by skippers Sanam Johar, Raghav Crockroaz Juyal, Rahul & Paul Marshal and DID 4 contestant Swarali Karulkar.
