Discovery channel will broadcast a 90-minute programme titled 'Everest Avalanche Tragedy' that will include eyewitness accounts of rescue and recovery efforts following the April 18 incident that killed 13 people and left three missing.
The programme will serve as a tribute to the Sherpas affected by the tragedy and their families, with the channel contributing to the American Himalayan Foundation Sherpa Family Fund, a release said.
The programme will document the weeks leading up to the climb through the moment the avalanche struck the Khumbu Icefall, one of the most treacherous parts of the mountain, and its aftermath.
The programme will feature real time footage, capturing the mobilization efforts of Sherpas and rescuers as they rushed to search for survivors.
