Dish TV India Q4 net profit jumps 14-fold to Rs 483 cr

DTH service provider Dish TV India today reported nearly 14-fold jump in consolidated net profit at Rs 482.77 crore for the March quarter on account of deferred tax expense of Rs 402.90 crore.

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 34.94 crore for the January-March period of 2014-15 fiscal.

Dish TV's net income from operation rose 9.57 per cent to Rs 797.4 crore in the same quarter of 2015-16 fiscal as against Rs 727.7 crore in the year-ago period, the company said in a BSE filing.

Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) stood at Rs 174 compared with Rs 172 in corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal.
 

For the 2015-16 fiscal, Dish TV reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 692.42 crore as against Rs 3.14 crore in the preceding fiscal.

Its net sales/income from operation stood at Rs 3,050.72 crore in the fiscal compared with Rs 2,679.51 crore in 2014-15.

Dish TV's shares were trading 4.54 per cent down at Rs 89.45 on BSE in the afternoon session.
