Direct-to-home digital service provider Dish TV India Ltd today launched a new brand 'Zing' that will target regional television viewers in small centres with customisation.
"In the next phase of digitisation, roughly 90 million viewers will be moving from analog to digital platform. Our aim is to tap those consumers in the smaller centres mainly preferring local regional content at a lower price," Salil Kapoor, CEO of Dish TV, said while interacting with the media.
The company will launch the new service with West Bengal and Odisha, which will cater to local viewers of these markets.

As on Dec 31, Dish TV's total subscriber base stood at around 16 million and it added 350,000 new connections during the October-December period, Kapoor said.
India's total digital subscriber bases is estimated at around 60 million of which direct-to-home service providers account for 40 million subscribers.
