Police have failed to make a breakthrough in the alleged robbery of Rs 1.63 crore from a private bank's van near Nanksar village even though they did not rule out the possibility of some dismissed police personnel being involved in it.
Employees of the Security Company in the cash van during questioning said that the style of conversation of the robbers was not different from the police personnel, a senior police official said.
The entire episode was conducted in a perfect police like style managing a naka (post) on the road, SSP Ludhiana (rural) Ravcharan Singh Brar said.
"A breakthrough would soon be made and all the accused would be nabbed along with the booty," Brar added.
He did not rule out the possibility of some dismissed police employees having criminal backgrounds being involved in the crime.
The car involved in the robbery has not been traced so far also the gang involved in this robbery have not been identified yet, police said, adding however weapons and mobile phones of the security personnel snatched during the crime have been recovered.
