The Punjab Assembly today witnessed unprecedented ugly scenes with opposition Congress members throwing papers, books and documents at the Chair and manhandling the marshals alleging their Legislature Party's office was raided by police.
The House witnessed walkout by agitated Congress members who also trooped into the well several times chanting slogans against the government leading to adjournment of the House four times.
When the House re-assembled after the fourth adjournment, uproarious scenes continued forcing the Chair to adjourn the House for the day.

The Congress members, led by Leader of Opposition Sunil Jakhar, raised the issue during Question Hour.
They alleged the police action was intended to evict a 22-year-old girl from Tarn Taran, who was allegedly thrashed by policemen recently, and his family members from the CLP's premises.
Amid the din, the members hurled papers, books and documents towards the Speaker's podium, thrashed the watch and ward staff and tried to breach the security cordon around the Chair.
Despite repeated pleas for calm, the Congress members did not relent and continued to shout slogans leading to adjournment of the House for the day.
The Congress members did not raise any demand but outside the House Jakhar demanded resignation of the Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, his deputy Sukhbir and Speaker Charanjit Singh Atwal.
