A case of alleged possession of disproportionate assets was registered against a retired sanitary inspector and his wife Thursday by the Anti-Corruption Bureau of Mumbai police.

Accused Subhash Jamdade (62) worked as a sanitary inspector in E ward office of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, an ACB official said.

During his period of his service, Jamdade allegedly collected assets worth at least Rs 75.80 lakh, 200 per cent more than his legitimate income, the official said.

A case under the Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against Jamdade and his wife, and further probe is on, he said.

No arrest has been made yet.
