District agriculture officer dies

District Agriculture Officer, East Singhbhum, Arun Kumar Gupta today died of cardiac arrest as soon as he was rushed to Brahamananda Hruyadalaya Hospital, official sources said.

Gupta (50) was rushed to the hospital by his driver and a chowkidar soon after he complained of chest pain early in the morning but died on reaching the hospital.

Sub-divisional officer (Dhalbhum), Prem Ranjan said the officer was rushed to the hospital but the authorities did not admit him despite repeated plea by the chowkidar and the driver, who accompanied him.

Gupta was to taken back to government-run MGM Hospital here but he died on the way, he said.
 

Ranjan said the district administration was unable to take any action against the hospital authorities as the Hospital falls under the jurisdiction of the adjoining Seraikela-Kharswan district,

Administrator of Brahamananda Hruyadalaya, Dharma Rao told PTI that the officer had a talk with the doctor on duty and died.
