DEO Chandrashekhar was suspended with immediate effect.
The chief minister, after getting complaints that liquor in the district was being over-charged, suspended the officer, a spokesman said.
"The official was prima facie found responsible for failing to keep a check on the practise," he said.
The chief minister had earlier taken similar action against the DEO Kannauj, the spokesman said adding, he had issued a stern warning to officials concerned against any such practise. PTI SAB PG
