The police broke open the door of a room of the hotel and found the body of the DSO Madanmohan Das (52) lying on the bed, the Town police station's Station House Officer (SHO) Ajay Kumar said.
The body has been sent for post-mortem to ascertain the cause of the death of the DSO posted in Rohtas district, he said, adding an investigation was underway.
Das had checked into the hotel room last night, Kumar said.
