Delhi government has constituted district task forces to check the menace of child labour in the city, state Labour Minister Gopal Rai said today.

On the occasion of International Day against Child Labour, Rai expressed serious concern over the employment of children below the age of 14 years.

"District administrations have lodged FIRs against the defaulting employers under the Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act, 1986, J.J. Act, Bonded Labour Act, 1976 and other relevant provisions of IPC," Rai said.

He added that defaulting employers were being charged Rs 20,000 per child as per the Supreme Court directions.
