The celebrations took place yesterday at a shopping mall in Kuta and was organised by the Consulate General of India in Bali in collaboration with the management of the mall.

"The effort was another step in its direction of deepening people-to-people contacts between India and Indonesia and Bali province, in particular, and earnest endeavour to reach out to all and spread the joy and harmony which the festival of light brings about in our lives," said a statement released by the Consulate General of India, Bali.

The event showcased Indian dance, performed by Balinese students and Indian music played by a music teacher at JNICC, Jakarta along with performances by local Indonesians with Bollywood as its theme.
