Diwali gift for HRTC workers, Corporation sanctions Rs 32 cr

The Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) would provide financial benefits to the tune of over Rs 32-crore as Diwali gift.

The Board of Directors of HRTC which met here under the chairmanship of Transport Minister G S Bali sanctioned release of Rs 32 crore for clearing pending liabilities of the employees and also release of additional DA instalment with effect from January this year.

Bali said Rs 7.07 crore have been sanctioned for payment of arrears of additional instalment of DA from January, 2014, Rs 5.50 crore for overtime payment, Rs 9.82 crore for pension liabilities and Rs 2.35 crore for new pension cases.
 

Bali, who also holds the portfolio of Food and Civil Supplies said the turnover of the Corporation has increased to Rs 1,216.06 crore while the sales have increased by Rs 95 crore and net profit by Rs 4-crore.

He said 800 employees of the Corporation would be paid ex- gratia amount of Rs 5,700 and liabilities of Rs 250 crore left by the previous BJP government would be cleared.
