Bringing respite to around 65,000 West Delhi residents from water problem, Delhi Jal Board has commissioned an underground reservoir and booster pumping station at Shahdara.

"Commissioning of the 7 million litre capacity underground reservoir (UGR) and booster pumping station (BPS) is a part of the mandate of DJB to expand and augment the piped water network services within the city," a DJB statement said today.

The UGR, which was commissioned yesterday, would provide piped water supply at enhanced pressure to areas like Bihari Colony, Bhola Nath Nagar, Shalimar Park and Shalimar Park Extension, it said.

The water supply will be available daily from 6 AM to 8 AM in the morning and 6 PM to 8 PM in the evening, the statement said.
