Distribution Logistics Infrastructure (DLI) today said it will launch inter modal logistics services for export and import cargo and containers from their own Inland Container Depot (ICD) at Borkhedi here, tomorrow.
DLI, formely known as Vikram Logistic and Martime Logistic PVt Ltd (VLMS), has created the integrated logistic park at Borkhedi, which is about 10 km from Butibori Industrial Area and is also close to Mihan (Multi-modal International Cargo Hub and Airport).
"It has been set up at Borkhedi on the basis of a fundamentalist logistics reality that it is in the heart of country. Nagpur lies on the flight path of various international air route and a natural choice for a logistic hub," DLI Managing Director Karunakaran Sathianathan told a press conference here today.

DLI has created a basic infrastructure at Borkhedi for rail linked inland containers depot, rail linked domestic container terminal, first mile and last mile connectivity by road, automobile logistic park, liquid tank farm for liquid cargo, private freight terminal for break bulk cargo and dedicated warehousing for transit and bonded cargo, he said.
The company has invested about Rs 100 crore on the facility, which will provide direct employment to 150 people and indirect to about 450.
Setting up of a dedicated warehouse as per the need of customers on 1.50 lakh sq ft was also on the cards.
Sathianathan said Principal Commissioner of Customs and Central Excise Ashok Kumar Pandey, Managing Director of Nagpur Metro Rail Corporation, Brajesh Dixit , Central Railway Nagpur division, Divisional Railway Manager, Brajesh Gupta and Commissioner (II) of Customs and CE, Ashish Chandan will be flagging off the first train tomorrow, Sathianathan added.
