The court also directed the UP's Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary, Medical and Health, Principal Secretary (Home) and the Director General of Police to constitute a special cell for monitoring the lodging of FIRs against such unauthorised medical practitioners as well as the subsequent investigation and prosecution.

Justice Sunil Ambwani ruled that District Magistrates and Chief Medical Officers, of the districts concerned, across UP shall ensure that no pre-natal tests were conducted at any of the clinics or the diagnostic centres within their areas of jurisdiction.

The court passed the order while hearing a contempt petition filed by one Shabi Haider Jafri who had alleged that notwithstanding court orders, unqualified and unregistered medical practitioners were carrying out their activities across the state.

Fixing November 30 as the next date of hearing in the matter, the court asked the UP government to file its compliance report.
