District Magistrate Ritu Maheshwari today took additional charge as the vice chairperson (VC) of the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA).
She took the charge from secretary and officiating vice chairperson of the GDA Ravinder Godbole.
Godbole was working as the acting vice chairman since September 18 after Kanchan Verma moved to London on a one-year study leave, information department officials said.

Maheshwari told PTI that her first priority would be to check illegal constructions and that she woul not tolerate laxity in implementing development works.
The GDA official said that grievances of the people and flat buyers will also be looked into.
To ease the traffic congestion, Maheshwari said she will hold a meeting with the traffic police and transport departments.
