DM orders action against land mafias

The police have identified 90 alleged land mafias operating in Noida and action would be taken against them under the Goonda Act, district magistrate B N Singh said today.

The directions were issued on the basis of a report submitted by Senior Superintendent of Police Love Kumar at a meeting of the District Task Force Committee here.

So far, 90 land mafias have been identified by the district administration. It has been decided that action would be taken against them under the Goonda Act, he said.

The district magistrate was informed that 16 FIRs have been registered and four alleged land mafias have been arrested.
 

Singh has directed officers to submit reports of pending actions against land mafias and launch drives against illegal constructions in flood zone areas along the Hindon and Yamuna rivers.

The meeting was held at the Collectorate.
