DMDK chief demands CBI probe in Aavin case

: DMDK president and leader of the opposition Vijayakanth today demanded a CBI probe into the Aavin milk pilferage case.

On August 19, four persons arrested at Villupuram for allegedly pilfering and adulterating milk, taking it from tankers transporting State-run Aavin milk to diaries in Chennai.

Last month, the Crime Branch CID filed a chargesheet in the case against 23 persons. The charges include adulteration, criminal conspiracy and criminal breach of trust.

DMDK chief Vijayakanth said "the Tamil Nadu government should order a CBI probe for an impartial investigation, to unravel truth and for confiscation of properties of offenders.
