DMDK members evicted from Assembly

DMDK members were today evicted from the Tamil Nadu Assembly for continuously disrupting the proceedings.

DMDK members led by party floor leader Alagaapuram R Mohanraj stood up and raised slogans in the House after their repeated attempts to get permission to reply to a statement by Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa was not heeded to by Speaker P Dhanapal.

After attempting to pacify the DMDK members several times, the Speaker ordered the House marshals to evict them.

The Chief Minister listed out the cases faced by DMDK partymen across the state and contended that they did not have the moral responsibility to talk on law and order situation in the state, while intervening DMDK whip V C Chandra Kumar during a debate on grant for Police Department.
 

On July 22, the Speaker had barred DMK MLAs from attending the rest of the session after they were evicted en masse for the fourth time in the ongoing budget session.

The Assembly, which began on July 10, is slated to end on August 12.
