DMK members today staged a walkout in the Tamil Nadu Assembly after they were denied permission to discuss an issue by the Speaker.
Soon after Jayalalithaa made a suo motu statement in the House, DMK members sought to discuss an issue for which Speaker P Dhanapal denied permission citing the rule that there can be no discussion on a statement read under Section 110 of the Assembly rules.
DMK members' words were not taken into Assembly records.
After unsuccessfully attempting to get the Speaker's permission, DMK members staged the walkout.
