DMK will demand in Parliament that India should move a resolution on its own in the Human Rights Council for an international inquiry into the human rights abuse against Tamil people in the war against LTTE in Sri Lanka.

DMK Parliamentary Party leader T R Baalu made this known at an all-party meeting convened by Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar here today.

The party has been pressing the government to take a tough stand against Sri Lanka at the international level over the rights abuse issue.

DMK also wants India to strongly take up the fishermen issue with Sri Lanka, Baalu said.

He said DMK wants the bills on quota for SC/ST and Women reservation to be passed in the last session of the Lok Sabha beginning tomorrow.

The issue of price raise should be discussed, he added.
