The absconding son of an RJD MLA, accused of thrashing a doctor of a government health facility, surrendered before a district court here today and was sent to judicial custody.
Ranjit Yadav, son of RJD MLA from Aatri Kunti Devi, surrendered before Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Sampat Lal in the case relating to assault on a doctor of a Primary Health Centre at Neemchak Bathani in Gaya on Wednesday.
The court sent him to 14 days' judicial custody.

Ranjit Yadav and his associates are accused of beating up Satyendra Kumar Sinha, a doctor of the PHC.
As per the complaint registered by the victim doctor, Ranjit Yadav and his associates allegedly asked him to show them the attendance register of employees, which he denied.
Following the denial, the accused severely beat up the doctor hurling furniture at him. The doctor is undergoing treatment at a government hospital in Gaya.
An FIR had been registered against Ranjit Yadav with the Kotwali police station.
The incident drew sharp criticism of Nitish Kumar government on law and order. Indian Medical Association took up the matter with state police chief P K Thakur.
Ranjit Yadav has earlier been booked in 2012 in connection with killing of a JD(U) district level leader Sumrit Yadav.
The father of the accused and former RJD MLA Rajendra Yadav is serving life term in a case of death of a minor in 2005 in Dariapur area of Gaya in firing by him and his supporters to celebrate his victory from Aatri Assembly seat.
