Mumbra police here have arrested a doctor for allegedly raping a woman patient and threatening her.
Dr Prashant Thorat, the accused, was arrested last night.
According to the complainant, she visited Sanjivani Clinic of Dr Prashant Thorat in Diva in January this year. During the treatment, he allegedly raped her, said police spokesperson inspector Sukhada Narkar.
Two days later he allegedly told her that he had shot her video, and if she didn't do what he told her, he would pass it on to her husband.
Last month he again tried to blackmail her, threatening to put the video online, so she told her husband about it.
When her husband confronted Thorat, Thorat threatened him too, the complainant said.
