Doctor booked over death of teacher

A 43-year-old government school teacher died allegedly after being administered an injection by a doctor who was later booked by the police for negligence in the city here.

According to the family members of Haripriya Sharma, she was rushed to Dr Pawan Bhardwaj's residence after she complained of anxiety and high blood pressure this morning.

They claimed that Bhardwaj administered an injection after which Haripriya became unconscious and started frothing.

She was rushed to government hospital where the doctors declared her dead on arrival.

Kin of the teacher held protest at the hospital.

Police officials including DSP Bhawar Singh and city Kotwali SHO Tarunkant Somani reached the spot and pacified them while assuring action in the case.
 

The woman's body was sent to Kota where a medical board conducted its post mortem examination.

"On the complaint by the family members, a case under Section 304 (A) was today registered against Dr Bhardwaj for alleged negligence," SHO Somani said.

The doctor is posted at district government hospital, the SHO said adding the investigation into the matter is on.
