An MBBS doctor died at a private medical university here, with the police saying he was ailing and succumbed during course of treatment.

SSP Rajesh Modak, however, said if doctor Nitin Upadhyay's family members demand a probe into the matter, a thorough investigation will be conducted following the post-mortem.

Earlier, SP (Rural) Anil Kumar Singh said no FIR has been lodged in this connection by the family members of the deceased.

It is the same institution where a first year girl student Neeraj Bhadana was found dead recently, with her post-mortem revealing that she was murdered.

Meanwhile, Neeraj's uncle Gyan Chand Bhadana has claimed Upadhyay was himself working as a doctor at the institute, and was being questioned by CB-CID in connection with the murder of Neeraj.
