A 29-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling of her husband's hostel room here, police said today.
Anita Meena, wife of Sadhuram Meena, hanged herself from the ceiling of his room in PG hostel for resident doctors at Maharao Bheem Singh (MBS) hospital here late last night when he was away, DSP, Nayapura police station Circle Gopal Lal Meena said.
A suicide note was also recovered from her possession in which the woman has not blamed anyone for the extreme step and has taken responsibility for the act, the DSP said.
The woman was a house-wife and was staying with her husband in the hostel room. Police is yet to ascertain the reason behind the extreme step, he added.
The body was handed over to the family members after postmortem by a medical board, police said.
There is no report of any tussle between the couple, they said, adding a case has been lodged in this connection and the probe is underway.
