Doctors booked for sexually harassing medical practitioner

Police have booked three persons, including two doctors, from the powerloom town of Bhiwandi in a case of alleged sexual harassment of a medical practitioner while being operated upon at the hospital.

No arrests have been made so far in connection with the case, said an official from the Bhiwandi city police.

According to the complaint the victim was operated by the accused doctor on May 12. While carrying out the operation the accused made a video and passed it on to his friend (who too has been booked in the case) through social media.

An offence under sections 354(A) (sexual harassment), 500 (defamation) and 509 (outraging modesty of a woman) under the IPC have been filed, said police, adding, relevant sections of the Information Technology Act too have been added in the case.
 

The complaint further mentioned that the doctor also passed lewd comments against the patient while she was on the operation table.

The complaint was filed on May 15, said an official.

The matter is being currently investigated, said police.
