After two persons died of fever and nearly 2,000 cases of the ailment were last week reported from the Bhojpur block of the district, a team of health officials today visited the area and concluded it was simple viral fever.
The Uttar Pradesh Director of Communicable Diseases, Dr MK Gupta, came with a team of doctors from Lala Lajpat Rai Medical College, to examine patients ill with fever at government hospitals here.
Following their visit, the team rejected fears of epidemic and said that the cases were of simple viral fever, common during change of season.
