Doctors treating patients in atmosphere of 'fear'

Doctors, considered God once, were now providing treatment to patients in an atmosphere of fear due to the growing tendency to physically attack them even for the slightest medical error, leading obsterician Dr Kamala Selvaraj said today.

Some years ago the doctors were considered Gods by the people who believed them as saviours. However, the situation had changed now as the doctors were attacked and their hospitals damaged for the slightest medical error, she said.

She was speaking after inaugurating a gynecological department and cardialogy wings in Sangeetha Nursing Home in the city, run by Puthiya Tamizhakam founder President Dr K Krishnasamy.
