The three deaths during the past two days were caused by fever but the nature of the fever was not yet known, the sources said.

The doctors would treat patients, if any, and enquire into the nature of the ailment, Malbazar Sub-divisional Officer (SDO) Narayan Biswas said.

As the labourers were not getting wages and ration for the past two months, 886 workers were today employed under MNREGA and 6 kg rice per family free of cost to tide over the crisis, the SDO said.
