Docuseries on Jenner's gender transition journey announced

A docuseries, chronicling Olympic-winning athlete Bruce Jenner's transition from male to female, will be aired in July.

E! has announced the eight-part series about Jenner, 65, seeking out "his new normal."

The cable net said the docuseries will also explore how Jenner's transition affects his family. A series title will be announced at a later date.

"Bruce is incredibly courageous and an inspiration, and we are proud to be entrusted with this deeply personal and important story," said Jeff Olde, Executive Vice President, Programming and Development, E!

"This series will present an unfiltered look as Bruce boldly steps into uncharted territory and is true to himself for the first time."
 

Jenner is an executive producer on the series, which is being produced by Bunim/Murray Productions. The company has documented LGBT stories for more than 20 years.
