A nine years old boy was badly mauled by street dogs in Mumbra near here.
Sahid Naseem Sayed was on his way to the school in Kausa area yesterday morning when a few street dogs set upon him before passers-by came to his rescue.
He was now being treated at the J J Hospital in Mumbai, said Santosh Kadam, chief of the Disaster Control Cell of Thane Municipal Corporation.
Citizens of the Amrutnagar locality where the incident took place alleged that dogs had become a great nuisance in the area.
Dr T P Lahane, chief of the J J Hospital, told PTI that the boy had multiple bites on his body.
