A 19-year-old domestic help allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself at her employer's residence in southwest Delhi's Dwarka area even as her parents alleged suicide, police said today.

Savitri allegedly hanged herself yesterday with her dupatta while her employers were away, they added.

No suicide note was found and the police were clueless about the reason behind the extreme step.

Savitri was a domestic help at KC Dilip's house at Vidyut Apartments in Sector 12, Dwarka. Dilip and his family had been staying in the apartment for three years.

Dilip was in his Gurgaon office, while his wife had gone to pick up their daughters from school when Savitri took the extreme step, police said.

Dilip's wife found the door locked from inside on her return. She called the guard and the caretaker, who entered the house through the kitchen window and found Savitri's body hanging, said a senior police officer.

The deceased hailed from Madhya Pradesh. She was staying with her parents at Sector 3, Dwarka.

Her parents have alleged that she was murdered by someone and then, her body was hanged. However, police said the cause of the death would be known from the post-mortem report.
