Santosh Kumar Yadav was arrested from Shastri Park Metro station with jewellery worth Rs 50 lakh and Rs 5.42 lakh cash, police said.

The domestic help at a house in Derawal Nagar had gone missing after the gold and diamond jewellery worth Rs 50 lakh and cash of Rs 17 lakh were looted on the intervening night of December 4 and 5, police said.

"The owner suspected the role of his domestic help as none of the almirah lock was found broken," said P Karunakaran DCP North West District.

The owner neither had complete name, address or mobile number of his domestic help nor had he submitted servant verification form to police, he said.

Even they didn't know from which district or state the domestic help belongs.

During investigation, police raided various places in the city and after interrogation of over 50 persons address of the help was ascertained.

During interrogation, he said that he looted the house as had planned to buy a house in Hazaribagh in Jharkhand.
