Vishnu, a native of Palwal district in Haryana, was arrested recently by Delhi Police for his involvement in three cases of burglary and motor vehicle theft in Vasant Kunj area in south Delhi.
He was arrested based on a complaint filed by Salma Zaidi who claimed that her house was ransacked on June 14 when she returned home from office.
Gold and diamond jewellery, foreign currency, four mobile phones and other gadgets were stolen from the house, she had said in her complaint.
During investigation, it was found that the thief had entered the house from the balcony.
Tracking of the mobile phones, which were stolen, helped police nab Vishnu from Vasant Kunj, DCP (South District) Chhaya Sharma said.
"Entire stolen gold and diamond jewelry and other stolen property recovered at his instance. Further investigation is on and raids are being conducted to apprehend Murari, brother of accused Vishnu," he said.

Vishnu was working as domestic servant at a flat in the same area for the last two years and he was in dire need of money to buy a plot for his house.
"On June 14, he found that Flat No. B-1/1676, Vasant Kunj was locked. He climbed through water pipe and reached the balcony at second floor. After committing theft, he came down with the help of a rope made by scarves," he said.
During interrogation, Vishnu also confessed his involvement in two other burglary cases.
