Don't give additional duties to Anganwadi workers: Har Govt

According to a judgement of the High Court, the Anganwadi workers should not be assigned additional duties to such an extent that they failed to attend to their primary duties of looking after the children at the Anganwadi Centres, Haryana Director General, Women and Child Development Department Sumita Misra said here.

Misra said that the ICDS was the single programme to provide a package of services like supplementary nutrition, immunisation, health checkup, referral services, nutrition and health education and non-formal pre-school education to the children below six years of age, pregnant and nursing mothers to improve the nutritional status of the beneficiaries groups and reduce the malnutrition.
