Taking exception to BJP President Amit Shah's attack on the party during his Bahraich visit, Congress today said that it does not require the "certificate of patriotism" from the RSS and BJP.

"The allegations levelled by Amit Shah in Bahraich yesterday are nothing but a bundle of lies. Congress does not require a certificate of patriotism from the RSS or BJP", chairman of communications department of the Congress Satyadev Tripathi said.

"Those who acted as agents of the British during the freedom struggle are today humiliating the party of the freedom struggle and leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi and their sacrifices for the country", he said.

During a public meeting in Bahraich yesterday, Shah had alleged Congress party and Rahul Gandhi were stooping low for their vote bank politics and supporting forces dividing the country.
