Rattled by thesuspected suicide by a 10-year-old student in Bagdi village in the Deha area of Shimla district on Tuesday, the administration appealed today to schools and parents to not take lightly any signs of depression or loneliness among kids.

Shimla Deputy Commissioner Rohan Chand Thakur said the district administration had opened a child counselling center for this purpose. We appeal to all parents and children to let us know if they ever feel mentally ill, he said.

Referring to the suicide case, he said that the Tehsildar at Deha visited the family today.

There was no confirmation from the family of the deceased about his playing the blue whale game but the possibility of him playing other games on the mobile cannot be ruled out, he added.

The DC said that he would himself visit the family of the deceased tomorrow.
