The Cloud City cassanova was originally portrayed by Billy Dee Williams in 1980's "The Empire Strikes Back" and 1983's "Return of the Jedi" alongside Harrison Ford's Han Solo and Mark Hamill's Luke Skywalker. It was known that the iconic gambler had lost his starship Millenium Falcon to Han.
Plot details for the upcoming "Han Solo" movie are still kept under wraps, but it's described as an origin story about Han Solo and his best buddy Chewbacca. Lord and Miller will direct the movie from a screenplay written by Lawrence Kasdan and his son Jon.
Filming on the sci-fi film is expected to begin early next year for a May 25, 2018 release in US theatres.
