Donatella Versace's representative has dismissed a new TV movie based on the inner-workings of fashion's most famous family as a "work of fiction".
Actress Gina Gershon went blonde to play the flamboyant designer in 'House of Versace', which chronicles Donatella's efforts to keep the Versace empire together following the death of her brother Gianni in 1997.
The movie will air in America on Lifetime over the weekend, but one person who won't be watching is the fashion maven herself.
Dismissing the project to Women's Wear Daily, a publicist for the brand says, "Versace has neither authorised nor had any involvement whatsoever in the forthcoming TV movie about Mrs Versace.
"Since Versace did not authorise the book on which it is based, the movie should only be seen as a work of fiction.
