DoNER minister Ghatowar to visit Meghalaya next week

Ghatowar, during his three-day visit to the state, is expected to attend a conference of Welfare Ministers of NE and attend a seminar at IIM Shillong on the theme NE-Development 2012 slated to be held on Monday.

He will also inaugurate Thomas Jones Synod College Building at Jowai in Jaintia Hills district besides attending a series of meetings at the NEC secretariat here, they said.

The DoNER ministry has lately initiated to develop a tourism master-plan with the Ministry of Tourism of the respective state governments for implementation of the master-plan.

The North Eastern Council (NEC), a nodal agency for economic and social development of the region, has prepared the comprehensive master-plan in collaboration with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS).

 

The recommendations in the master-plan are to be implemented in the ongoing 12th Five Year Plan period, according to reports.
