Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Punjab has not closed doors for leaders of clean image from other political parties, a senior party functionary said here today.

At its maiden political conference on the occasion of 'Holla Mohalla' here, AAP's Punjab convener Sucha Singh Chhotepur said that "AAP has not closed doors for leaders of clean image."

He said that Punjab Congress leader Sukhpal Singh Khaira has got go ahead to join the party from top AAP leadership.

Chhotepur said that AAP has not taken any final decision on induction of Peoples Party of Punjab (PPP) supremo Manpreet Singh Badal and former Congress leader Jagmeet Singh Brar in the party.

He gave a call to "free Punjab from clutches" of the Badal family.

The state AAP convener said that it was a wrong notion that Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) was ruling the state, rather it is the Badal family which is ruling in Punjab.

He claimed that SAD leaders and workers had no say in the party and writ of Badal family prevailed in the Akali Dal.

Chhotepur alleged that the Badal family holds control over mining, liquor and transport business and they are direct beneficiaries of profits from these businesses while state exchequer is starved of revenue.

According to him, 60 per cent people of Punjab were into consuming drugs and only the Badal family was responsible for it.

Chhotepur said that people of Punjab had no choice except for SAD-BJP alliance and Congress party and that AAP would provide third "effective alternative" to people of Punjab.

AAP Punjab convener said that people of state had high hopes from AAP and the party would continue its campaign to expose the misdeeds of the present regime.

Harinder Singh Khalsa, party MP from Fatehgarh Sahib alleged that Badal family had bought properties in other countries.

In its maiden contest in last years Lok Sabha polls, AAP had won four seats from Punjab while drawing a blank from the rest of country.
