Stephen Dorff and Jennifer Morrison are joining the cast of the fantasy family film "Albion: Rise of the Danaan", helmed by debutant director Castille Landon.

Written by Landon, Sarah Scougal and Ryan O'Nan, the film centres around a 12-year-old girl, played by Avery Rath, who is carried to a faraway land called Albion on a magic horse.

Dorff, 41, will play the young girl's father, and Morrison, 35, will appear as a mystical woman in the alternate universe.

The cast also includes Richard Kind, Johnny Sequoyah and O'Nan. Filming has begun in Michigan and in Florida, with the bulk of the film to be shot in Bulgaria in May with an eye toward a summer 2016 release.

The film is being produced by Dori Sperko, Joseph Restaino and O'Nan of Character Brigade.
