Rapper Drake wants to pay his respects to fellow singer Kanye West.

West recently appreciated Drake for his contribution to the music industry in his speech at a recently held music festival.

After hearing the speech, Drake, 26, realised how much he appreciates the 'Black Skinhead' hitmaker as well, reported MTV online.

"That (the speech) was probably the most important moment in my career to date. I think me and Kanye have wanted to express our respect for each other for a long time and sometimes rap, the business, the competitiveness and just the heart behind it forces you to not talk to the people you quietly admire," Drake said.

Meanwhile, 36-year-old West is set to perform at the MTV Video Music Awards later this month - his seventh onstage appearance - where he will sing 'Black Skinhead' at the ceremony, which will air live from the Barclays Centre in Brooklyn, New York City.
